Ruislip Gardens Primary School

Attendance

We expect all of the children at Ruislip Gardens to have good attendance, children should be aspiring to an attendance level of 96% and over and every day absent from school has an impact on your child’s learning. Children should only be absent from school if they are too ill to attend.

The school should be notified if your child will not be in school and advise us of when they are likely to be back. Please call the absence line 01895 632 895 option 1 on days 1,3 and 5 giving full details for the reason of the absence.

If you would like to inform the school of any medical or welfare issues relating to your child’s absence please email welfare@ruislipgardensschool.co.uk and Mrs White, the Attendance and Welfare Officer will respond as required.

LATE ARRIVALS AND COLLECTIONS

Children must attend on time at the start of the school day to be given a present mark for the session. Poor punctuality is not acceptable. If your child is late they can miss the teacher’s introduction to the lessons and may also feel embarrassed having to enter the classroom late. Persistent lateness can add up to considerable amounts of learning lost and can be a serious disadvantage to your child.

All children should be collected on time at the end of the day. In exceptional circumstances if you are running late a call should be placed to the office 01895 632 895. Repeat late collection may incur a fine and a meeting with a member of the senior leadership team.

If you request an early collection or late arrival for your child you will be asked for details of the reasons including proof of any appointments.
