Headteacher's Welcome ⥂

Parents' Evening

Twice a year, in October and February, we hold Learning Review Meetings where your child attends with their parent/carer. A learning review meeting is a chance for:

  • individual children to meet with their parents and class teacher, in order to hold a collaborative and formative discussion about the child’s progress and achievements;
  • the adults to listen and respond to their child’s point of view and reflect on their learning.

During the learning review meeting, your child will be a responsible active learner with a positive part to play in creating their own future. It is a chance for everyone to engage in a conversation about learning, an equal partnership with everyone sharing their own knowledge and understanding. The child, parent and teacher can contribute ideas about future progress and how everyone can best support the child to achieve their potential.

Making an appointment for Parents Evening

We will be using the parents’ evening online booking system for you to make a 10 minute appointment. Please use the system in the same way you have in the past i.e. the Parents Evening section of the school’s website: please use the priority 1 contact when logging in. Please check the school calendar for the dates of parents evening.

Timing of Parent Consultation meetings

School will finish at 1.15pm on parents evening days. Children will be registered after lunch and will then be dismissed at 1.15pm when the school will close. Year 6 children who currently have permission to walk home at the end of the day will walk home at 1:15pm unless the crèche slip is filled in. The school will reopen at 1:30pm so that children can come back to their learning review meeting, through the main entrance, with their parent/carer at their allotted appointment time. In order to facilitate the attendance of as many parents as possible, the Parent Consultations will start at 1:30pm with the last appointment at 7:20pm. Each appointment will be 10 minutes.

Crèche facility

Due to the change of time to the school day, we will be providing a crèche for any parents who would like their children to be supervised by school staff, until 3.15pm. Booking of the crèche will be via a Google link which will be sent out 2-3 weeks before the parents’ evenings; the link must be used if you would like to use this facility. Crèche booking must be made by Noon on the Friday before the parents’ evening so that we are able to make the necessary arrangements.

SMARTY’s After School Club

If you have already registered for SMARTY’s, your child can transfer from the crèche facility to SMARTY’s at 3:15pm, please book directly with SMARTY’s in the usual way.
