We take the care of our children at school very seriously. We have a dedicated Welfare/ Attendance Officer who is on hand throughout the school day to deal with incidents. She is supported by a Welfare Assistant and a team of First Aid trained staff members who assist in her absence or provide additional support as required.
It is imperative that you notify the school if your child has a medical condition or food allergy. We will record this and share the information on a need to know basis.
Should your child require medication we are ONLY able to administer this where it has been prescribed by a Doctor and is in packaging which carries the patient/pupil name, administration instructions and is within expiry date and where a school Medicine Form has been completed.
All children who require Epi-pens should have two in school – one which is kept in the medical room and one in the ‘medication bag' which lives in the child’s classroom and accompanies them throughout the school day including to P.E. lessons and to the lunch hall.
All children who require Asthma Pumps should have one pump and one spacer in school which will be kept in the class medical bag. The school will provide spare 'Emergency Kits' which will be made available to a child in the event of an asthma attack, these are stored in the Medical Room, the Reception classroom and in the Trip Medical Bags.

When the weather is sunny could we remind parents to apply sunscreen to their children BEFORE school. Children should NOT bring bottles of sun cream into school, it is impractical for cream to be applied by an adult or a child during the school day. Please remember to bring a hat for your child if weather is particularly hot as we do make use of outdoor spaces when it is fine and dry.

When weather is cold please provide your child with a warm, waterproof coat each and every day and also, when required, a hat scarf and gloves.
