School Journey 2018
On Wednesday 18th April, 48 Year 4 pupils from Ruislip Gardens journeyed to Buckinghamshire's Woodrow High House for a jam-packed 3 days full of adventure, team-work and unexpectedly high temperatures! The children and staff enjoyed activities ranging from climbing low ropes and high ropes and building shelters, catapults and rockets, to learning about geo-caching on a woodland walk and how to survive in the wild. With the support of the fantastic staff at Woodrow, the children developed their skills of team-work, listening, compromise and perseverance through the vast range of activities they were able to take part in. Not only this, but they also had the delight of spending one of the hottest April days in 70 years outside in the wonderfully vast grounds at the house! The staff present were incredibly proud of the effort and enthusiasm displayed by the children on the trip and the staff at Woodrow commented on the children's ability to support each other and use their growth mindset particularly well for children of their age. Overall, the trip was a great success and the children are sure to have some fantastic stories to share with the current Year 3's in lieu of their visit next year!
"At Woodrow, I really enjoyed Jacob's Ladder because it was really fun when you had to try and get onto the logs that were higher than you." Maya, 4N
"I enjoyed Woodrow because of all the stuff I had never done before." Arthur, 4S
"We did lots of activities. My favourite was night-line because we were blindfolded and went into the woods and it was really difficult." Vinnie, 4G
