At Ruislip Gardens Primary School we want all our pupils to enjoy their learning as we strive to give them every opportunity to experience a stimulating curriculum supported by a range of extra-curricular activities, clubs and visits.
We are a ‘good’ school with capacity for further improvement and our dedicated staff is very committed to providing care, support and challenge for all of our pupils. We have considerable expectations of our pupils in upholding and promoting the highest standards of behaviour and personal responsibility and, as a consequence, our children are often recognised for their politeness, courtesy and cheerfulness.
The school has a strong leadership team which has a resolute focus on continuing to raise standards and all staff endeavour to build positive relationships with parents and carers to ensure that children at Ruislip Gardens are happy, safe, and secure with all of their learning needs met. We are very proud of the performance of our most recent Year 6 pupils as their attainment in Reading, Writing and Maths at Level 4B, the expected level for pupils at the end of their primary schooling, was 7% above the national average. The gap was even higher (11%) at the more challenging Level 5 and almost one fifth of our pupils achieved a Level 6 in Maths.
Our facilities are well proportioned and generous and afford children of all ages plenty of space and opportunity for outdoor learning and games. We have an extensive outdoor playing field which we use for our annual sports events and summer picnic; we also make use of the space to house a polytunnel in which we grow produce for use in our school kitchen. In September 2013 we expanded to three forms of entry and the children who are fortunate enough to be working in our six new, state of the art classrooms are the envy of their peers! In addition, our Nursery has been completely refurbished and a substantial programme of re-decoration throughout the school has provided a brighter and more attractive learning environment for all of our pupils.
